Matt & Carrie Macy's 1966

This '66 hardtop was assembled October 27, 1965 and left the Wixom plant finished in Candy Apple Red (color code T) with an all-vinyl black interior (code 26). This car, also equipped with optional adjustable passenger-side headrest, was delivered to the Kansas City district, where it began its life as a lease car in Topeka.

Many years later, with high mileage and in need of lots of TLC, it was purchased by its current owners, who immediately began a complete restoration with the help and support of members of our club. The restoration was finished in 1999, when the car promptly won Concours I at the Heartland Vintage Thunderbird Club national show. The car has since won many Best In Show awards and trophies. It is currently owned, operated and preserved by club members Matt & Carrie Macy of Wichita.
