1975: Tripodal sculpture, Century II. This striking piece of public art, made of a self-oxiding steel called Cor-Ten, was designed by artist James Rosati, built by Architectural Metal Products, Inc. and unveiled in 1972. Note the Holiday Inn in the background of the above left photo; roughly one year after this picture was taken, teenage sniper Michael Soles shot ten people in the street below, killing three. That building has now been renovated and serves as an apartment complex.
